According to Global Port Tracker, US-bound retail container ports handled just over 2 million TEUs (Twenty-Foot Equivalent Units) in October 2018. Retail import volumes were up 13.6 percent year-over-year for October 2018. See more here.
Additional Charges Expected From Ocean Freight Forwarding Carriers In 2019
In 2019, carrier contracts, particularly variable contracts, are expected to see increased surcharges. Depending on whether bunker fuel surcharges are split out or inclusive, increases could be applied as early as January 2019.

China Proposes Reducing Tariffs On Cars Imported From The United States
Recently, Bloomberg News reported that China could take measures to reduce tariffs on cars imported from the United States. This proposed measure could reduce these tariffs from 40 percent to 15 percent. See more here.
